Abstract:

History of the Greater Hartford branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

The bulk of the collection contains information about the presidents of the Greater Hartford branch of the NAACP. This was compiled by longtime member and officer Annette Shack for the organization's centennial in 2017. Additional information includes programs from Annual Membership and Freedom Fund Dinners held between 1994 and 2019, 100 Most Influential Blacks (2011 and 2013), the Great Debate (Harvard vs. Howard, 2015), and assorted smaller events.
